Laboratory & Cardia Services

Biochemistry

Clinical Biochemistry is supported by a state of the art autoanalyzer. It is also supported by the external quality Control program from Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore. The lab has consistently been performing admirably for its quality performance.

Hematolgy & Pathology

The labs are backed by technology and staff for the optimum reporting. Also, we have collaborated with Ms Metropolis, Bangalore, to provide additional support in some selected areas of work.

Electrocardiography (ECG)

A 12 lead computerised electrocardiogram records the electrical signals from the heart. It is a basic and screening test for several heart disease. Though a computerised algorithm provides interpretation it has to be adjudicated by a clinician for its optimum performance.

Echocardiography & Color Doppler

An important, noninvasive imaging of heart to provide information on the structure and functioning of heart is yet another test used for the evaluation of heart.

Treadmill Computerised Stress Test

To evaluate the performance of a person under the supervision of a doctor, a Treadmill is used while monitoring the multiple leads of ECG display. It helps the cardiologist to assess the condition and may give a clue to the presence of a heart disease.

24 Hours Ambulatory Blood pressure (BP)

24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring is a method to measure blood pressure to obtain BP readings several times, including night. It throws light on the BP readings which may give clues for the presence of several disorders including ‘White coat hypertension’ – Increased BP during clinic visits prompting proper decisions. This does not require any hospitalization and done on outpatient basis.

24 Hours Ambulatory ECG Recording (Holter recording)

This test evaluates the rhythm of the heart. It records ECG in three channels continuously for 24 hours and it can be extended upto 48 hours. It documents abnormalities of rhythm of the heart which may be transient and may be troubling the patient. It may provide a clue for the presence of disorders of varying clinical importance.

Unobserved BP recording

This evaluation is designed to provide several BP readings typically over half an hour to help the doctor in making clinical decision.

Vascular profiler for Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI, PAD & PWV)

This test provides information regarding Stiffness of arteries of the body, and suggest the presence of peripheral artery disease. And, it grades the degree of the artery disease prompting further investigation for a thorough evaluation.

Pacemaker Programming

A noninvasive evaluation designed to evaluate programmable implantations like pacemakers. It is required for all patients who have Pacemaker implantated. Programming is done periodically as required.
